Absolutely. We can probably help each other when it comes to school. From what I've heard, we will be valued by each other.

Jackson isn't that bad. Actually had good food, but has terrible bars. Thirsty Thursday Braves games are good too. Horrible public golf courses, especially that are within driving distance. Live in Fondren if you can possibly make it happen. Then move as soon you get done

Hal and Mals is the only bar I've ever heard of in Jackson. I've heard the Braves games are fun too.

I've lived in Belhaven for ten years, and I've never been the victim of a crime. I probably just jinxed myself somehow.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying there aren't problems. A lady was robbed and shot earlier this year. It seems like the crime rate goes up closer to State Street.

Braves games are pretty fun. The Rez is nice in the summer too. Pelican Cove is a boat drunkfest.
Good musicians / comedians are coming through Thalia Mara hall on the reg now too. Just bought tickets to see Bill Burr earlier today.

Jackson Metro is a hellish, shitty place but unlike other cities it's not on the way to anything and is completely avoidable.

We've talked about getting out one of these uparmored humvees and riding over in the awful parts one day just to look. We're supposed to be logging miles on them regardless, so

Are you familiar with Bill's comedy? He's my favorite stand up act. I listen to his podcast every Monday too.

Google earth is a helluva a drug. Last night I spent about an hour looking at Jackson west of I-55. There are definitely some decent looking places, but holy hell...

Let me know when you get ready to take the armored humvee out. I'll buy the booze.

It's beautiful land, with stately oak trees. It's just all hood now

If you're off work and can keep a secret it can happen.

So chance living in any area West of I-55, or deal with a little more traffic?

I live in between Brandon and Flowood, pay no city taxes and can be at UMMC (across the road at JFH) in 15 or less as long as it's early. Classes and anything after 7:20 though? sucks

The afternoons are worse. At it's peak, Flowood isn't terrible in the a.m.. It's busy but it moves somewhat steady.

Stay away from Lakeland. If you are traveling on Lakeland during high traffic times you can add 40 minutes to your drive time.

What about the area just east of 55? They used to call it "leftover." That's where i used to live and it was close to everything. Housing prices should be pretty reasonable now days.

haha yea teens go back there all the time to drink and smoke so unless you are worried about a high drunk 15 year old you should be good

leftover is still high property value as it is right next to east over and is on the east side (or the desirable side for white folks) of I55
