I've been hearing their new song Empty Nesters on Siruis XMU a ton recently and like it so I checked out their Coachella set tonight. Thought they were great.
So I'm on Spotify now listening to their albums and adding some songs to playlists. Checked out their bio and the guy is from Columbia, SC! His name is Chaz Bundick and he went to Ridge View then graduated from USC in 2009
Blew my mind

Love Toro y Moi..
I've been a fan for a long time, ever since my freshmen year (2008-2009). I was really involved with WUSC during undergrad and he was really good friends with all of the junior and senior DJs when I was a freshmen DJ. Chaz would come to WUSC potlucks and keggers all of the time. He's really chill.. kinda quiet even.
Before Toro y Moi really blew up, back in like '08/'09 they used to have shows at New Brookland Tavern across the river in West Columbia pretty regularly.. It's kinda cool seeing a guy that you used to see for free in a dive bar blow up and play on one of the bigger stages at Coachella.
