Okay The Walking Dead is considered by many to be a good show I understand. However, for me it is the exact same thing happening again (zombies attack people, they find people, let's shoot guns). It is also flips back and forth between being good and bad; one season could be phenomenal while the next one is like choking on someone else's vomit.

Now that fricking shite of a show Southpark I understand even less. It was supposed to be paper mache which it was for the first season and then it was too hard to produce so it was made into cartoon characters, which I find awful just to look at. For me at least the characters are a bunch of 5 year old Peter Griffins that have the knowledge of a 20 year old. The humor is what one would find in Spongebob except with the words "shite, frick, dammit, etc." How is that considered good?

Pretty much everything you said about South Park was wrong. Try watching the show.

First few seasons of walked dead were really good imo. It's been kinda downhill since then. Same thing with true blood. Every season was worse than the last until it just sucked dockey dick.

As far as South Park being low brow and not high cultured enough, their musical won 9 Tony Awards. So if you can't see the social commentary through the fart jokes, that's an indictment on you, not them.

You've already decided they're bad shows, so this is a pointless exercise

Watch what you want. Plenty of good tv shows out there.

Sorry if i'm derailing here but you could try Sons of Anarchy. I'm catching up on it now and it's pretty good so far.

You have to be of a certian age to really appreciate South Park. Too young (under 30) or too old (over 40) then you probably just don't get it. And that's ok. There's alot of things I don't get either, that younger and older people appreciate.

I'm with you on Walking Dead though. You pretty much nailed it for me.

I think you should change under 30 to under 20. I'm 24 and get pretty much everything in the show, as do my friends who are my age as well.

South Park continually pushes the boundaries of social interaction in a funny way. Maybe its vulgar, but thats not the point of the show. It makes fun of real life events, in an extremely fictionalized version, and word play (the AIDS vs aides episode).

As for Walking dead, it appeals to the "what if" portion of our brain. Emotional connections and character arcs are outstanding on this show. Sure the show has its lull's, but every series does. That is what builds suspense.

Most people who were 6 years old when it came out aren't going to get it, or appreciate it in the same way. You and your friends are the exceptions to the rule. That's why I say over 30.

It's just a time line thing. Same with 9/11. You were 10 years old when it happenned, I was a 5th year senior at UGA. We just appreciate the impact of certing things differently.

In your favor, you were 17 when the first black president was elected. You probably appreciate the impact of that alot more than someone who was just a little kid at the time, but is now a college sophomore.

Make sense?
