Kid kicked off for weed (Tyren Jones) was already suspended from the team for other reasons, which may have been a failed drug test for weed, for all you know. There's so much here that no one except members of Bama's AD know about that making a statement like this is very nearly deliberate ignorance.

Meh. Zero tolerance apparently is zero tolerance in this case. He was in a situation that caused his arrest. Normal player? Saban might give the guy the benefit of the doubt until the facts are more developed. Guy that is on zero tolerance short leash? Sorry you are gone just for being in the situation. Price you pay for past conduct - fair or not. This isn't a court of law, there is no due process guarantee. Not really that hard to understand.

Arrested twice in an 18 month period. However, was in good standing with the team, with the university, and otherwise was not any kind of trouble - ie: good grades, doing the proper work for school and team, etc. You can't really compare the two situations any more than you can compare J Taylor and M Dyer (or maybe you can with those two).

So why kick him off the team, if he was innocent? Did he jump the gun. I would think if there was any doubt, he would have been suspended until further decisions could be made.
Could you imagine the shite storm that would have taken place at the hands of the media and fans like yourself if he had waited for "due process" in this situation? A guy who is already fighting a similar charge in Georgia and who many had already thrown stones at Saban for even allowing on the team.
He handled it the only way he could have with the information he had - acting immediately and swiftly.

Certainly not like working one of those "blind-sided head punches in a bar" cases. Those guys just get a team vote and start for the season (even when it becomes obvious that they can't play their position worth a shite).

Don't kid yourself. People like Irons Puppet would have been leading that charge. His stance on the subject is 100% influenced by his fan affiliation (just like a lot of people on both sides of the "fence"). You will not get an intellectually honest debate about this with him.

I would think fandom would be irrelevant when discussing domestic violence. Guess not.

An apology? For what? Given this situation and the Geno Smith situation, what does Nick Saban deserve an apology for?

LSU looked into Taylor but would not pursue anything until the pending charges were resolved from his first domestic incident that is still out there.

aren't you the one accusing people of deflection?
Fortunately i cannot empathize with domestic violence victims, I can sympathize with them though, and it's not fake or based on my fandom as much as you'd like to paint it that way, more just decency.
also is it empowering to call me a lady?

Has crisp invited anyone to come to his house and kick his arse yet? This thread is shite if the answer is no.

Shouldn't matter as that's pretty typical with domestic violence. We dismissed Paulk over an incident (players on the team and Lady Vol hoops players saw it happen) after an incident (Eric Berry's little brother was the guy who pulled Paulk away) but the girl even then refused to press charges because she was afraid it would ruin his career.
The only reason she gave a statement was because the other girls talked her into talking with police and someone had already called them. Even then she wouldn't press charges.
It wasn't a terrible beating or anything but just laying hands on her was enough to get him booted the next day and despite his girlfriend not pressing charges and pleading his case.
Paulk is off the team but he's still young enough to change and he has no past incidents but a guy like Taylor? We all know he never should've been given a chance to begin with and very likely the girl is feeling guilty because she doesn't want to 'take away his career.' Saban and Bama should see right through it and let it go. Guy is too much trouble.

So my only question, Is Auburn's offer still committable?
