That may be it. Although I could consider Honey Badger.

Tebow, Walker, and Jackson are obvious. Cam's NFL career would probably make him obvious as well.

I just don't think Manziel belongs in that stratosphere. I can't quite put my finger on why, but he doesn't pass the eye test for me.

Honey Badger certainly belongs on the list, what other player has had that kind of impact from his position?

Think about it this way...Could another player, given the same team, do the same things as a Tebow or Manziel given the situation?

Was he truly irreplaceable?

My answer to Tebow is yes, others could do what he did. Manziel, less so, and Cam I am not sure about.

There are a few more that I would add to that list if you back it up that far,

Derrick Thomas
George Rogers
Peyton Manning
Darren McFadden

Calvin Johnson, AP, and Cam are the only true "once in a generation" players in the game right now.

ETA: Peyton too.

Maybe people mean once in a generation players for that particular school. That moniker works when you put it in that context.

Cam - once in a generation for AU
Tebow - once in a generation for Florida
Johnny - once in a generation for TAMU

all of those players stand as the best player/most accomplished at their school over the past 20-25 years (generation).

Why does this suprise you. His services were purchased in a scam by Auburn.

Based on what? He has more rushing TD's than Herschel Walker and one less passing TD than Peyton Manning, you will be hard pressed to name anyone who could replicate those numbers. Not only does Tebow have all-time great stats but there are so many aspects of his game that can't be measured.

Wow, a MSU fan saying this. It was known that MSU had discussions with Cecil. MSU coped a plea deal and got off. Isn't MSU on probation?
