frick Kentucky. Nothing against the kids but I hate the way Calipari got them to come to UK with his sleazy AAU coach connection, WW Wes, and his get you to the NBA gimmicks. Plus none of them are from Kentucky. They aren't playing for their state or their school they love. They suit up in blue because of Calipari and his NBA gimmicks. Every other SEC state has home grown in-state kids who can ball. Kentucky has to be the worst state when it comes to in-state talent ever.

Can you imagine the hysteria if Arky had an unbeaten team in the FF that was composed of the best players from around the country? Why, it'd be the cat's meow.

Hawkins and Willis are Kentucky kids that would easily start for any school in the SEC.

Interesting you say KY is the worst, I guess you've never heard of Russell for Ohio State?

Plus, many sec teams DON'T have kids who can "ball", regardless of their home state. That's kinda the root of the problem with SEC basketball.

Ummm, out of the nations top 25 high school players for 2016, 13 of them are from SEC states. So yeah, SEC states produce kids that can ball. As usual there are no kids from Kentucky in that list. None in the top 50 for that matter. As usual

Much like Saban and Bama football, Cal adapted to the "one and done" rules and dared jump where others didn't. They do seem like good kids and are a great team. Cal is the only one dealing at that level so he gets the credit. They are fun to watch and easy to pull for.

Never heard of them. Have they played any this year? Ball boys and equipment managers do not count.

I'm pulling for Kentucky to go 40-0 just for the history. It would be an amazing accomplishment. As for "they're team players, play defense, etc.," that's the reason they're 38-0 right now and have a chance at doing something monumental.

Yes. And last year. Hawkins got significant minutes last year. They'd both start for arky.

But where did they go to school and did they turn out? Basketball recruiting is nationwide. Its not like football. If you rely mostly on in-state talent in basketball you're behind the eight ball from the start.

Agreed. Calipari has done a wonderful job of molding his guys into a team. And they're a poised bunch. They appear to take in stride bad officiating and other things that go against them while staying focused on their play.

I'm no Cal fan, but I do respect the hell out of them for playing so well as a team. What's he's done the last few years has been impressive, no doubt.

They win by out talenting the opponent. Teams can play a perfect fundamental game against them and still lose.

Now who does this sound like? If we're talking football?

I agree with OP 100%. They seem like good kids. They're superstars and they play like a team. Moreover they're 10 stars who play like a team. I don't think I've ever seen 5 (or more) superstars on any basketball team at any level come close to the degree to which they play as a team. I'd be rooting for them anyway. Because they're SEC. I find it very easy to root for them because they are who and what they are.

As to Coach I'm not sure. I've read the rumors. We'll wait for it. And, really, in this day and age, who cares? I mean really. It's almost like hating a congressman because he's spending more than his salary. Know what I mean?

I'd rather see Coach K or Izzo out coach Cal the scumbag and best his 8 McDonald's All-Americans with lesser talent. I'm really hoping for Duke to pull out the upset and drop UK at 39-1.
