Who is scared of weed?
In a decade it may be legal in all 50 states. That is not the case today.
He did something that is currently illegal in the state in which he resides. Not to mention it violates NCAA rules.
I'm in the military. If I was stationed in Colorado I could legally buy weed from hundreds of stores. I would still be kicked out if I failed a drug test for smoking it.
He had a free education from a prestigious university if only he followed the rules. He didn't.
If weed was such an important part of his life he should have given up college football and paid his tuition to go to Colorado State.

Whether or not it is legal doesn't matter. I don't agree with the shitty 55MPH I-95 speed limits in VA, I'm still going to get a ticket if I go 70.

Thanks man, all good, that's been 2 years ago. And she is doing fine now.
During that time I looked into the medical and recreational uses of marijuana, and there is a lot of information out there on it, that I was amazed at the benefits of it. I also looked into why it was made illegal in the 1930's, and that the main reason was Washington lobbyist trying to make it illegal because it competed with the companies they were lobbying for.

I know this is a melt thread but if players can get shite faced they should be able to get stoned too. As long as they're not showing up to practice or a game stoned

This is also the reason you have record amount of military kids using a dangerous man made synthetic marijuana or "spice" that has contributed to many deaths. Because it does not show up in a urine test. The military would benefit from making marijuana legal.

I agree. Tyren should be on the team, Gino off the team. Saban has it backwards.

As long as they are of age let them get hammered. I know I did when I was 21. If they get behind the wheel frick them though.
I may come off as anti-marijuana due to my previous statements in this thread. I'm not. I think it's ludicrous that our government spends billions of dollars prosecuting people for a substance that is legal in some states. I also would like to see the government cash in on the annual $36 billion that weed would bring in on taxes to possibly lower income taxes.
However, it is currently illegal in every Southeastern state so our players are subject to those laws. I won't give one red shite if they smoke once it is legal. More power to them and whoever wants to get high.
Unfortunately that is not the case at this time. They should follow the laws and rules until they are changed.

Spice is illegal for military use as well. And yes, one can test positive for it.
Posted on 3/31/15 at 6:49 pm to dawgfan24348
It is the same. If a player from Colorado or Colorado State tests positive for weed they are suspended, hence keeping them from playing college football. The only difference is they can't be arrested for it.

It is the Devil's lettuce. What would coaches do when all the kids start to OD? What kind of example does it send to little kids when they see their star quarterback stoned out of his mind on campus? Anarchy!

My best friend was a pot head and an alcoholic and dropped dead a few years ago. I really think it was the gallon of gin he drank a day instead of the weed.

Considering alcohol causes 1 out of 10 cancer deaths and is a potent neurotoxin, while weed is non-toxic, I think it's safe to say no shite.
