1) Gregg Marshall accepts the job at bama
2) Auburn will beat bama in football 3 years in a row
do you accept the offer?

That depends on whether or not losing to Auburn ends our post-season chances.
Do those losses keep us out of the SECCG? Then frick no.
If we still make the SECCG, then who cares? Bring on Marshall.

No.
ETA: Was actually thinking about it earlier though.. Would I rather win a national championship this year or get Gregg Marshall? Depends on who we'd get otherwise I guess.

Hell to the no. There are other good basketball coaches out there. Marshall isn't a guarantee of success.

Meaningless wins over Auburn are more important to you than the overall health of our basketball program?
If our losses to Auburn still result in an SEC Championship and playoff birth, who gives a shite?

Nah, we'll just take Marshall and keep beating Auburn, thanks.

My problem with the bet is you are trading sure losses for no guarantees in return. That's a bad bet.

Sure losses that literally have no negative affect on our season or ability to win a national championship.
Seems like a safe bet

If it meant that Marshall would have instant success and bring positive national exposure to the basketball program, then yes, I would take Marshall and deal with the 3 years of agony.

Can we discuss the possibility of a(nother) Mulligan championship?

Fortunately, Bama doesn't need to make that "trade" to hire a stellar basketball coach. They just need to make sure the put him in a position to say:

A mulligan you got 1,000 championships. You can take 3 years.

That is a must win game now. For both teams.

My scenario is just as hypothetical as the OP.

ARE. U. CRAZY?
Anybody but Auburn and you might think about it. No friggin way with AU though.
NOTHiNG, NOTHING is more important than beating Auburn in football.

I can think of about a million things more important than Alabama beating Auburn in football...
