This is how the process works, unless you are KY, NC, Duke etc.., Don't know much about Marshall and don't think he is the only coach who can do a good job.

I'll never understand why LSU fans think Bama fans care about 9-6. Winning 21-0 in Louisiana in the Championship Game crushed any care that Bama had about the first game.
Even if you did it the aggregate way like soccer Bama still cruises 27-9.

People need to realize, it's not about winning the press conference. It's about getting a good coach who will propel the program higher. UA won the press conference last time with Grant. Getting someone like pitino jr or Jeff Capel may be more right than trying to get a Shaka Smart.
I have no doubt they will get a good one this time.

Marshall is leaving for big money and would have gone to bama. The problem is the Texas job opened and it is better than bama. Nothing we can do about that and can't fault us for trying. We had him until Texas got in the game.

Exactly, it was obvious he wasn't coming when he said he would listen to our offer during the tournament. If he was seriously considering coming to bama he would have kept things quiet till it was done and announced it then.

We were going to double his salary. I do think he would have come until texas opened. They can match our money and offer a better program. Either way....moving on. I doubt our hire wins the press conference but hopefully it is the right hire.If you look at my prior posts I was never sold on Marshall being worth 4-5 million anyways.

Number 1, the hire hasn't been made yet so some of you might want to be thinking about how you like your crow.
Number 2, Gregg Marshall isn't the only basketball coach in America. There are others that know something about the game.
Number 3, I'd rather keep Grant forever than to hire that used car salesman cheating turd Bruce Pearl who is going to leave Auburn so fricking fast at the first offer out of town it will make their heads swim.

Well, once done dumbass booster leaked out our intentions, it had to be addressed. Not that he was considering coming, but he was getting hounded by it, and would've been worse if he didn't say something.
But at least it sounds like we're ready to drop 4-4.5 mill on a damn good coach. I'm not sure who it'll be, but we might end up getting a few of the top coaches 7 figure raises. Though we'll get someone legit.

Archie Miller should have been the target from day 1. He is a better fit for Alabama and I think at one time he would have strongly considered the job with the right offer. He may still but it's going to be tougher now that he has a raise and extension.
