If we hired Marshall would we sell out the first home game?

I think every Bama basketball fan would be in agreement that this would be a major hire. Could we put 15,000+ in the seats for the first home game, no matter the opposition?

If it's on a Friday or Saturday, I'll be there. I haven't been (or had the desire to go) to a basketball game since the NIT game vs Stanford a few years ago.

I would go, and its been almost ten years since Ive attended a basketball game. If we do get our guy, would this be along the same level as the Saban hire?

No I wouldn't say it would be the same lines as Saban but it will be big.
I'll definitely be there. From 2000 to 2006 I went to nearly every home game. You maybe could count on 1 hand how many I didn't attend. I was basically on the level as Bryant is now. I knew everything about the program. My uncle died and so did a piece of my love for the basketball team.

I've been to games and supported them since but nothing like a big splash hire to get the blood flowing again. I'm pretty excited and a bit impatient....I would never root for Notre Dame in anything but Go Irish!

Yes, I think so. I believe he would actually engage students (ie go to fraternity and sorority houses and mass lectures) which would get a ton of kids there. Then you just have to hope the tide pride people actually start to show back up, which I think they will.

A better statement would be holding a Midnight Madness. If we could get 8,000+ for that, I'd be happy.

If it's on a college football Saturday? No.

Any other day during football season? Absolutely.

I would absolutely be there. Coleman was packed at the start of Grant's tenure as well.

No, it won't be a sellout. It will be against a team like West Tennessee State A&M and we will have about 10K there. But it doesn't matter. If he puts a good product on the floor, the numbers will grow all season long. What matters is if he hits the ground running to restore the broken relationship between the Basketball staff and the public. Espicially the students. Get them excited, and the rest will take care of itself. And as mentioned above, lets have a really midnight madness and let the kids have some fun!

I'd be there. Went to every home game in college (aside from during Christmas break) until the later part of the 2013 season. It was then I began my Bama bball boycott until Grant was fired.

Students should never boycott. Your ticket is free so it's not like you are hurting the AD monetarily. I went to every home game between 2006-2010 (Gottfried's last three years and Grant's first). There are other ways for students to let displeasure be known, although it was much easier when we had "Mark's Madness" t-shirts.

Go and support your fellow students.

Missed the last handful of games my senior year because I was tired of watching the sorry product we had on the court. Not necessarily disagreeing with you though

I was tired of the sorry product Gottfried put on the floor my first 3 years at UA. Still had fun at the games with the other students. Was fun seeing how creative we could make our "Mark's Sadness" shirts. Got a bunch of free stuff because they ran a lot of fans were coming.

Sticking through those games made it that much rewarding when we started playing better after he was fired.

Again, not necessarily disagreeing with you on that but too late to go back now... Back to the original point, I'll drive over for the first game for whoever we hire

I would go, and the last game I saw in Coleman was against Samford. As a Samford grad I had so much fun cheering for the Bulldogs only because I was wasted and knew what buttons to push.

Would go to the first game Marshall coaches just to piss off all the naysayers that said it was NEVER going to happen. That and to watch Bama roundball take the next step.

ETA: Samford beat Bama's arse. I don't think we ever trailed in that game. Having Samford professors drink with you in the parking lot given that Samford was and STILL IS a dry campus.....
