It has been the story for the last several weeks. If the starter can't keep it close for 6 or so, we lose. Nothing out of the bullpen works. We don't hit good pitching. Recipe for losing. At the end of the last weekend, in our 6 losses, we were outscored 24-2 in 8th and 9th innings.

Our team is unexpectedly terrible all the sudden. One can only speculate as to why the bullpen is this bad. This is the #2 ranked recruiting class among this group.

Cohen's teams have always gotten off to slow starts in conference play but this MSU team has a lot of holes and with Mitchell, fat Rea and others leaving after this year it could be a long rebuild ... Bianco learned his lesson about relying too much on JUCO players when Reinstetle was our hitting coach... Cohen and staff will learn this lesson in the coming years... Bianco continues to bring in more SEC ready freshmen than his instate rival's head coach and I don't see that changing any time soon.
