The planes don't impress me, the are obnoxiously loud, etc.

ETA: I also think we should stop doing the national anthem before sporting events that don't involve national teams.

Other than the fact that it signals great unity and pride in the crowd, regardless of the logos on the individuals' ballcaps, how many points need there be?

The airforce uses them as drills, literally no money is wasted.

Nope. During Air Force Appreciation Day this past September the base where I'm stationed didn't have the money to do the flyover. We have F-15s here too.

Thankfully the Idaho National Guard in Boise had cash so they did a flyover with their A-10s.

Do they get paid to do air shows, or do they do those for free?
