Pretty sure those guys in Silicon Valley get all the steak and blowjobs they can handle. Sometimes it pays to be smart.
Even so, steak and BJ's for all day is a good day.

Is he smart? yeah probably not denying that. But is it hard to memorize lots of digits of PI over time? not the slightest.

Yeah, he's damn smart. Won lots of brainiac awards in HS, even a few national ones. First offers were from the Ivies (Yale or Harvard don't remember which but it football was just extra to them) as they would've put him on academic scholarship. IIRC, he got tons of Ivy and upper tier academic offers. He turned them down because they didn't offer the major he wanted (few schools do and that's the reason we got him).
He was the only time I recall where the academic side was super-involved (not just your usual stuff) in recruiting. For example, professors from the engineering department put on a long presentation for him and his parents on his visit and answered questions.
He already had more college credit than most smart kids when he arrived. He takes classes he doesn't need for 'fun' and is in the honors/design your own major program that is pretty selective and doesn't take a lot of smart kids.
I do agree with you though - rote memorization can be done by anyone but keep in mind that Josh once told a football reporter who asked about his class schedule "I like math."

Josh Dobbs is digging the dead bodies in Knoxville. A particularly badly decayed body singed off his eyebrows.

This by itself does not make him super smart, no, it's everything else he does.

Thanks.
It's why I'm such a big fan of his, tbh. I was a Dobbs fan when other fans weren't -- hell when others thought he was awful or would never have 'it'. And beyond his smarts, he's the guy you hope and pray your daughter brings home.

The real question is how many digits of Pi can he recite from his back?

Way to take a positive thread and shite talk.
Despite your ends this year being pretty good we were not only forced to replace our center just before that game because the starter was injured and believe me the back up center damn near got Marlin Lane and others KILLED against Vandy (it was like he wasn't there). We also had a bad oline to start with and gave up more sacks than a potato farm (only one school had more) and btw, UT-Chattanooga managed get more sacks than you did. Add in all the distractions going on that week and shite talking about that game is pretty damned weak.
In a world where Div I FB players are maligned for being idiots, it's sad you can't just enjoy a positive story that is GOOD FOR THE GAME and especially OUR CONFERENCE. It reminds everyone that there are actual student athletes and that the dumb FB player is a stereotype.

I don't get the hate. He looks like a great kid and by all accounts is extremely intelligent.
I understand the football smack and all, but this kid represents the best of what it is to be a student athlete.
There are times when folks need to have good manners, even on a message board. This is one of those times.
