Hope if they are innocent they can both get off and AJ can get on an NFL roster.

If they find them guilty then I am glad they are being tried.

Will be interested to follow the trial.

Also hasn't Mike Williams been kicked off the team?

They list him as suspended?

What are the particulars behind their accusations?

Also, anyone know who is representing them? I'm not familiar with the Tennessee bar, but I'd do some quick research on their attorneys if I could find them.

It happened at a party after the Kentucky game at AJ's apartment off campus supposedly. The story that's been mostly circulated by people at the party is AJ, Williams, the alleged victim and another female went upstairs together sometime during the party. They all came down a short while later and no one was acting different. AJ and the alleged victim were seen together at the party after they came back downstairs. The victim called the cops a few hours later from another location.

Also, the second female that was in the room (rumored to be having sex with Williams) was not a UT student and declined to press charges. She was just visiting for the weekend and returned to Florida shortly after all this came about.

The alleged victim was outed on another Tennessee message board but it was quickly deleted. People that knew her commented that they knew she and AJ had been together before and AJ supposedly had txt messages from her saved on his phone. I'm not sure what that means in an actual trial or whatever. Oh and from what others at the party said, the four of them were upstairs for almost an hour.

If you ask me, the whole story has seemed fishy from the start. I don't know much about Williams but posters here will vouch that AJ was one of the nicest guys you would ever meet off the field. It seemed so out of character for him to be accused of something this heinous but I suppose people said the same things about Ted Bundy too.

I hope none of this is true for all the parties involved but if it is then these two men should be locked up and have the key thrown away.

AJ is represented by Tom Dillard. He's a 5* defense attorney per Lawyers.com

Williams is being represented by David Eldridge.

I'm hoping it's not some girl falling for a football player's BS about "I'll be with you," or something like that, and crying rape when he peaces out.

See Jameis Winston.

I agree. Just a terrible situation all the way around.

I can just see a fat, middle aged vol fan on one of your homer boards telling that story and acting like he was at the party.

I'm not talking about Volnation. One of the Tennessee posters on here plays basketball with AJ and he posted a picture to prove it.

I think it was in poor taste but at the same time, it's 2015 and privacy is much harder to come by especially when it's a rape case involving a high profile college football player.

Your administration has come under a lot of heat lately for their handling of sexual assault allegations.

Not really. The Tennessean has tried to make an issue of unrelated events but Dave Hart is more on our shitlist for wanting to kill the Lady Vols name than for incidents related to sexual assault. Things were handled the way they should be despite the Tennessean trying to act like they weren't.

The Tennessean has been on a witch hunt for awhile now.

I hope the truth of what happened comes out, regardless of who is shown to be telling the truth. If AJ is the great guy the Vols seem to think, I hope he's vindicated. But what gives me pause is that prosecutors don't generally take cases to trial if they don't think they can win.

The DA was just elected quite literally when this fell into her lap. I'm pretty sure she didn't want an FSU on her hands so she took it to the grand jury. The trial, OTOH, is scheduled to take place quickly and that leans towards the defense feeling good about what they have. Otherwise the best tactic for a defense attorney is to delay, delay, delay.

I don't know how this one will turn out and I really hope it's not true because AJ of all people never seemed the type. It goes against all we know about him and he was here a long time and never had anything but good things said about him (not even whispers on campus) but then again there's always those guys who do something evil and all the neighbors say 'he was such a good man, helped me do this and this...we had know idea.' I hope that's not AJ because the AJ we saw for 4 years was a really good man who was great with little kids and friendly to everyone.

Williams is the wildcard here. I don't know anything about the guy. He kept a low profile even when he was starting and when rumors first circulated among people on campus he was the name that came up as being the one who might've done something. But again I don't know.

I hate the entire situation and hope justice wins out wherever the truth happens to lie.
