I'm trying to figure out what UGA has coming in next year that has everyone so high on them. Chubb is the most obvious and he'll be one of the best in the conference no doubt. But beyond Chubb, what do you have coming in next year that has everyone so high?

Not that they relied on their passing game much last year anyways, but they lose 2 of their top WR's and their QB. They are breaking in a new OC, who I hope is better at the college game than the pro game. They lose a couple on their offensive line as well, including their C and both RT's on their 2 deep from last year the best I can tell. So what can we expect besides Chubb because even as good as he is, it's going to be tough to win the east being so one dimensional.

On defense, I think you lose your top 2 tacklers from last year. Your line is going to have a lot of new faces as you lose 2 DT's and a DE the best I can tell. I think you also lost 2 LB's, so your front 7 is essentially going to have a whole new face to it.

No doubt the guys you have replacing them are solid, but I'm wondering who you expect to see fill those shoes. Are there any concerns at those positions you have to fill? Am I wrong about how much you're losing?

I have no doubt UGA will compete for the east, may even win it, but all the love to UGA this early with so many unknowns is kind of reminding me of SC from last year.

So educate me Dawgs.

We will. So the reason people are high on UGA is because MU will be down?

Winner of the east by default type thing, honestly. Defense should be solid, running game will be second to none. Offense will be tops in the east again if we have a competent QB.

The RT was granted a 6th year, so that's 4/5 OLs returning along with three 5* RBs. Lost two receivers, but also return two that have made a bunch of plays in the past. New QB obviously. Two good TEs in Blazevich and Rome.

Wilson and Herrera are the LBs that leave. They were really productive, but they weren't super talented so I'm not sure how hard they'll be to replace. Floyd, Jenkins, and Carter return to form what has to be the best outside pass rush in the nation. A bunch returns in the secondary.

Add a really good recruiting class, and I think most people see the most talented team in the East. That's what people differ to usually.

The leghumpers always have a hype machine that is second to none, but rarely live up to it.

Yeah, that crazy hype machine that simply favors them to win the east. Expectations = out of control.

I feel like they're favored by default, but I see them having a 8-5, 9-4 type season. Have good players, but also some worrying unknowns. Losing david Andrews will hurt a ton.

Vols finna eat

Did not know that.

I knew you had quality returning there. I imagine with a new QB and Schotty, they'll continue to play a big role.

They also have the toughest draw from the west if you ask me with Bama and @Auburn.

FTR, I expect UGA to be a 9-3ish team next year, with the 2016 team being the next real contender for something more than the division. That team looks like it will be loaded, obviously a year out so can't be sure.

Is Ramsey going to win the job or will he get pushed?

Bama will be tough, we boatraced Auburn last season, but they'll be tough. Our strength will definitely be our run game on offense (it hasn't been mentioned yet, but both of our outstanding fullbacks return as well), and our pass rush on defense. Our defensive secondary looks to improve as well with another year under Pruitt.

We should be decent and a very tough out for anybody.

UGA is favored to win the East pretty much every year now, mainly because the East is so down. Vols have sucked for almost a decade now, Gators have been down for quite some time, SOS seems to be on his last leg at USCe, and then you have the two absolute worst football programs in the entire SEC in Vandy and Kentucky. Even after all that, UGA seems to piss the East away as much as they win it....and with their draw of Bama and AU from the West, someone like UT or Mizzou will have a chance once again to steal the East late if UGA losses a game they shouldn't as they are prone to do.

Truth is they lose much of their front 7, which wasn't even that great to begin with plus their top player in the secondary in Swann. On offense they lose much less, but they still don't have a QB ready for SEC show time IMO which will make them fairly one dimensional just like this past year.

Keep hearing UGA fans saying this about pass rush being so good. Where did UGA finish in sacks last year...something like 7th in the SEC? Where is this dominant pass rush I'm hearing about? Based on potential instead of actual results?

Agree 100%

I saw your secondary pretty much stays in tact, but I was trying to remember if that was a good thing or not from last year. Obviously, another years experience will help as well. Also saw your rushers did return and I imagine that will be the strength of the D.

I think their leader had 7 1/2 sacks or so.

Because Leonard Floyd, Jordan Jenkins, and Lorenzo Carter are really fricking good.
