I see you've finally changed your tune on A&M, Hawgeye. That's nice to see. Good luck to the Hogs.

A&M, OM, and Georgia (assuming they all get in)

If A&M goes 1-1, we're in. If we go 0-2, we're probably out. If Ole Miss goes 1-1, it's up in the air; if they go 2-0, they are in. If UGA loses to Auburn, they might be out, but I doubt it.

Arkansas and LSU aren't that good. The SEC blows outside of Kentucky

It wouldn't surprise me that much if Kentucky is the only team to advance out of the first round, but I could also see LSU and Arkansas making runs.

LSU is beginning to get hot at the right time. You have Jordan Mickey as a legit forward who's blocking a lot of shots (held his own down low vs Kentucky, so that's why I say "legit"); Jarrell Martin is suddenly a 20-10 guy (and again, did that vs Ky); and suddenly you get Tim Quarterman, a 6'6" guard, dropping a triple double vs a good team in Ole Miss. If you get all three players to play their best game at the same time, LSU is playing at a 1 seed level.

it isn't trolling to say that an LSU team that lost at home to Auburn and Mizzou isn't that good and won't make it very far in the tourney

my statement was for both Arky and LSU. Both teams are solid and I think they will make it past the round of 32.

Do you even 4-4 against RPI Top 50 teams, bro?

Good for you. LSU could have beat Kentucky with "just" Martin and Mickey on their A-games. Quarterman had 7 assists, but only 2 pts and 2 rebounds. If he hits a few more shots and uses that 6'6" frame to grab a few more boards, LSU wins that game. And that's vs the #1 overall seed; so if you can beat Kentucky you clearly CAN beat anyone else.

LSU could be dangerous in the tourney, but come on man.

It's always MSU and Auburn fans saying the SEC blows. Just because your teams are steaming piles of shite, doesn't mean the rest of the SEC is. Auburn fans don't even know half the rules of basketball, listening to their student section is cringe worthy. Stick to football rednecks.

If UK played there A game like they did against Kansas, Louiville, UNC, arky, etc. We would get destroyed just like evryone else. They have the best team since 1990 UNLV. Maybe better.

I agree, and UK could be the same team to make the final and the only team to make the sweet 16 from the SEC.

Let me clarify- we're talking single games here. LSU would beat any team in the field if Mickey, Martin and Quarterman all play at their best. The problem is, Quarterman has been very hot/cold; he has 9 games of 15 pts or more, and 13 games under double digits. Also has a bunch of games with 7 or more assists, but similarly a bunch with 3 or less.

If you can get 15 pts and 7 assists out of Quarterman, and Martin and Mickey are both playing well, LSU is a tough team to beat. It just hasn't all come together yet.

Agreed Hawgeye. Sure would be sweet for the SEC to make a second good showing in a row. And from the looks of recruiting the conference could well be better next year.

No, they really wouldn't. No way you're that much of a homer. Run a long back to the rant now.

lsu had the ball with a chance to beat ky in regulation and have been excellent since. it's not a stretch to say that lsu could take any 1 to the wire the way they're playing right now. lsu just outscored a solid tourney team ole miss 50-36 in the 2nd half. of course, they could just as easily have a mizzou/ms state/auburn kind of game too. bipolar

i think the things that are going to hurt lsu in the tourney:
not so good against half court teams
sloppy passing
one of the worst teams in the nation at getting to the free throw line
a handful of players logging a lot of minutes twice in 3 days
