Barely knew I had a gallbladder until last night. Well, I know now.

New level of pain for me. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

My friend started having those. He stopped drinking beer and eating fatty foods and it stopped the attacks for a while. He eventually had to have it removed.

Get a nuclear medical test and they will inject you with a tracer that will let your body show the camera how bad the blockage is. You will probably have to have it removed.

They ran me through a few machines last night, but not anything like that. But cripes I had no clue your gallbladder could do that to you.

In the nuc med test they can see if there is a blockage then once they find the blockage they can give you morphine which will make your gallbladder open up more. If the cameras then show movement it will prove that the blockage is your gallbladder and not some other duct.

BTW you can live fine without a gallbladder lots of people do. You will just have to be more mindful of eating fatty foods.

Get your arse to the doctor as soon as you can. This will NOT get better. Wife had this 2 years ago. She suffered with it for 2 days til it was unbearable. We went to our family doctor who immediately sent us to the hospital. Within 3 hours that gall bladder was out.

Nowadays they do this with micro surgery. They'll make 3 pencil sized incisions and get that thing outta you.

Good luck. GO TO THE ER/DOCTOR NOW.

Get it taken out. Awful to deal with and you don't need it.

I'm starting to come around to your way of thinking. Just happened for the first time last night, now I'm getting nauseated again. I do not need this.

It's an outpatient procedure and a little pain for a few days but nothing like what you're going through right now.

Takes some getting used to (as in what you can and cannot eat) but it's worth it.

It became an emergency for me. Don't let it get to that point.

ETA: And mine happened bc I didn't eat ENOUGH fatty foods.

Had mine removed around 3 years ago. I was up moving in a day but couldn't go back to work for a couple weeks.

I can't eat a lot of fried foods now. Fried fish, chicken and pizza give me a lot of pain.

I had mine pulled three years ago. I went two years of not knowing what it was. I didn't feel pain, but it'd send my heart into overdrive when I was having an attack. The doctors were sure it was a panic disorder. Anyway, my gallbladder was functioning at 1%. Two years of hell for nothing.

I'm living, but damn if it didn't give me killer reflux. I have to drink cholestyramine everyday to get rid of the excess bile in my stomach as well as take Dexilant since my LES doesn't seem to work worth a damn after the surgery.

Had a few of these except mine weren't stones (or I don't think they were). One was really bad. I had to go to the ER and it felt like the worst heartburn ever. It was radiating up to my jaw and my back/shoulder blade. Was told if it happens again to just have it removed.

Never had any internal problems in my life. Had a few knee and elbow surgeries from Football/Baseball, but nothing internal like that. Sounds like that sucks. Crazy how a lot of people on this site have that...
