Can anyone take the time to give a quick run down of the team?

Strengths and weaknesses, some of the notable players, etc.

I personally like the Galloway hot seat thread as our de facto baseball thread

Talk to me about being "respectable" at tournament time.

Pitching: Keegan Thompson is our ace. He's had two really solid outings, including the W against GT and a dud. Cole Lipscomb is probably our second most reliable guy. We've used him in a starting role and also some middle relief. The weekend rotation is still in doubt. Guys like senior Rocky McCord, Trey Wingenter, and Kevin Davis have all shown some ability but struggled at times (Davis pretty much all of the time) with control. Justin Camp was all set up to be the closer but he's also struggled with control so not sure how that will be handled moving forward. Jacob Milliman, Dalton Rentz, Will Thompson are all guys who've seen fairly extensive relief action so far. In short, Keegan, Cole and Rocky will probably end up being our weekend SEC rotation IMO.

Fielding has been solid all across the board. We have a log jam in the outfield with several talented guys vying for time in left field. The other two spots are locked down with Anfernee Grier in center and Jordan Ebert in right. JJ Schaffer,Sam Gillikin and Bo Decker have all seen some time in left. Cody Nulph has been really good at SS. Daniel Robert has played first since returning from a suspension. Alex Polston and Kyler Deese have split time at 3rd. Damon Haecker is back at 2nd this year after playing some SS last year. Blake Logan is the primary catcher.

Our hitting seems to be better this year. Guys like Ebert and Grier have been really really good. Freshman DH Hunter Tackett is. Stud. Nulph is solid. Robert provides some pop. We have really struggled to get any semblance of offense from our 3rd basemen.

Overall a pretty decent team so far. The SEC schedule is brutal but this team has a shot at making the postseason IMO. Anything outside of that will be gravy.
