The closest trader joe's is in Austin... and frick Austin... So our HEB (like Publix or Krogers) has their off brand and it's just as legit. The Trader Joe's brand introduced it to us at least.

Trader Joe's has the best, but I don't really see what all the fuss is about. it's good, but it's not worth being obsessed over.

so i've tried to put it on sandwiches, toast, cookies, bagels, fruit.

it's really just best served with a spoon IMHO.

I haven't used it myself but I've seen people spread it on bagels or dip things in it like pretzels.

It's pretty damn good. I don't eat it often and when l do its usually just 2-3 pretzels just because its so rich but it's good stuff.

We only have one here in Louisville and it's about 15 from me but it's always ridiculously packed. I love their hummus combo they have but I just hate going out there.

ETA: I may check our local version of Whole Foods. They usually carry stuff like that.
