After some extensive research, I've stumbled upon quite the discovery. Last year we thought the stars had aligned for this team but it just wasn't quite meant to be. The puzzle was missing one KEY piece.
The number 74.
It has been 74 years since this team was dismissed as the rightful heirs of a national championship. 74 long and dark years.
Times began to change in '74 when this young star was born. The prodigal son has returned to lead his team to its first national championship. His wedding band is even made of atomic number 74.
