Word at UMMC is that a student was killed in Oxford today kayaking down a hill in the snow. Anyone in/around Oxford know anything about this?

Broken ribs, punctured lung, and presumably internal bleeding. Apparently it happened at a place called Highland Square, and he hit a tree going down a steep hill.

Kincaid had an IG post early with some kids on a yellow kayak going down this huge hill I think was at Highland. He has since taken it down.

The guys that I've been talking to down here knew him. They said his name was Fenton Kottkamp, and he was 20 YO. The group message thread thats going around has a picture of him in a kayak from earlier today.

Was the video the actual moment it happened? It looked like they fell off the kayak and rolled a long way.

I don't even see a tree in that picture. Is that Highland Square?

Yeah that was the video, it was like a car crash his body was jerked incredibly hard. There were two people in the kayak.

And there were two poles one large thick light pole and one smaller pole it looked like it was near a volleyball court and some apartments.

Damn, I saw it hours ago and thought it looked bad but with it being posted to IG I never thought anything of it until this thread.

It had to be that video. The force in the collision was immense. And there bodies were jolted and it looked like one of them was flung from the kayak . One person might have been sitting on top of the kayak, not sure if it was a two person kayak.

They avoided the big wood pole on the left in the image but there was a smaller white pole near where the kayak is in the picture. They could've been going 20-22 miles an hour at impact.
