Aww damn I was hoping for the mud-wrestling scene.

Or shower scene.

I've always considered 50 Shades to be 9 and 1/2 Weeks Redux. Kim Basinger was scorching in that movie.

... a great soundtrack too. I've still got it on vinyl.

But yes, she was. It changed the meaning of giving a silk scarf to a woman as a gift.

Definitely made Bassinger famous, and a sex symbol.

Definitely a weird movie ... but speaking of that it just hit me. Melanie Griffith, who was the lead female in Body Double along with that guy from Ghost Story .... but Griffith is what's her name's mother who is the female lead in 50 Shades.

On a side note I met Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith in the 90s in Charleston at a Harry Connick, Jr., concert. A friend owned the home they were renting while filming a movie in the area and we ended up sitting beside one another at the concert. Both of them were really nice people.

Oh no ... it was a very casual thing. Spoke to them only very briefly before they were surrounded by autograph seekers after the show while they were trying to make their way backstage to see HCJr.

But, I had this buddy down there at the time named Michael Forcier, but his radio stage name was Michael Dee. He had the most popular morning show in Charleston back then - it was very popular - and he was the master at busting celebrities' chops (which eventually cost him his job after busting Nick Faldo's chops one morning during the Ryder Cup and soon after Robert Reed's chops (think Brady Bunch) while he was dying with AIDs.

But anyways, Michael always got the good phone numbers to make crank calls and he somehow had gotten an interview from the Blockbuster Video employee who had waited on the couple after the concert and she told the world, in a very sweet way, that they had come-in looking for porn VHS tapes. He promptly turned around and got their number at the house they were renting down in Rock Creek and called and busted their chops early one morning and they were surprisingly very very cordial and joking about it - they both seemed to have a great sense of humor.

I actually met him again some years later at the Rum Boogie Cafe in Memphis when I was there visiting with a cousin who was racing in the same river race Johnson was racing-in ... he partied hard just like the rest of us.
