Copied from texags, coach Banks have a talk the other night for the houston aggie club.

Quick notes from last night:

Coach Banks came to Houston to talk about are new recruiting class from this year and broke down film of all of the recruits. As he went through the video he shared news/info/stories about each recruit

-first practice was yesterday and the guys are really feeling it...especially the new guys
-out of all the spring enrollees Richard Moore looked the best....he's only about 209lbs right now though
-Christian kirk is showing well but b/c he is so talented the coaches really wanted to show him what our conditioning program is about..."we brought him back down to earth a little bit" said with a big smile
-Keke in our coaches opinion was the best DT in the state outside of mack and he's 6'4 331 lbs
-Justin martin was the best JUCO safety in the country in our coaches opinion
-kyler.. "What can u say....43-0 and mechanically maybe the best to come out of HS in quite some time. Dont be mad at him on how he handled the end of his recruitment...he was always truthful with the coaches"
-Pryor will play ST this year
-Lockhart will play ST this year
-Lacamera "this was one of our easier evaluations" said smiling as his film shows his kick offs going through the uprights multiple times. He will eventually be the best kicker in the SEC
-bradford ran a 4.28 at our camp and he wants him at KOR as well
-lanfear was arguably best OL in the state
-siverand took an in home with Texas and called coach banks the next day to apologize about it. He said he liked was Texas and arky had to say but banks told him "yes its probably true u can go either of those places and start but do u want to go there and start immediately or do u want to come here and compete in a high powered offense and win"
-Claude George will start out at MLB
-Landis Durham will either be a 5 tech DE or SAM LB
-josh Reynolds had shoulder surgery
-aj Hilliard practiced with the team this morning but he's about 80%...aj will tell u he's a 100% but he's 80%
-after running through drills the team runs around the field (200 yd sprints basically) koda martin finished first in OL group and also looked good in drills
-on our TE play last year...they did intend to use can clear and were using the package quite a bit in the south Carolina game then he got a bad high ankle sprain...that sidelined him 4-5 weeks....the game they got him back was arky and he did well then got hurt again....the coaches then decided it was better to not force RSJ into that role b/c it was better to keep him off the line more for where we were as a team so they decided to move away from that package
-RB rotation- combo of some struggles on oline and trying to find something that worked...RBs didn't get real hot so rotating to try to find one but they were aware that maybe they weren't getting hot was due to some oline as well....also had three talented guys and wanted them to stay so they wanted to spread around carries...but at the same time having 3 RBs rotating sometimes means u don't have 1 true RB to lean on...hopefully looking at the bowl game and how we leaned on Carson shows what we ate looking to do in the future. Also banks thinks Christensen's philosophy leans towards what the fans were wanting more of
-banks said no bertolet can't kick it out of the end zone every time...if facing into the wind in Kyle field there is no kicker in the country that can put it more than 3 yards into the end zone. You play a game where u can try to kick it deep on a line drive but if Taylor missed it a bit then u have a returnable ball with no hang time...now ur coverages aren't down there fast enough and u give up big yards
-said he has grown as a coach by coaching in the SEC..."this is a real freackin league with real freaking players....this is different than any other place I've coached...this is real football "
-on chavis "I can tell you two things 1: we will keep it simple and 2: we are gonna play our asses off on defense....if ur not playing ur arse off you won't play"
-sometimes when coaches walk in or are talking players need to be reminded to sit up and pay attention....when chavis walked in the room all of our players were sitting up and watching him....they who he is and what his track record in this conference and they listen to him/respect him already

Not to go full keyboard coach retard here, but blaming the O Line is stupid. Yeah sure, the o line sucked, but how about also admitting to using the wrong RBs in the wrong situations and substituting them out of drives when they are showing signs of getting 'in the game'.

I read somewhere that the first 3-5 yards are the OL's responsibility, and anything after that is the RB's talent. We weren't consistently getting past the LOS after Arky until we played WVU.
