You seem wound a little tight for island life from my observation, and then you have that malaria thing in the Summer (that lasts 11 months out of the year like you have never experienced).... Second thoughts, do it and live on a boat in a marina where the nice friendly people live.

Any family involved that you would have to uproot? If not then I say go for it. Try it for a year. You may love it or at the very least you got to live somewhere exotic and come home.
