Why is aTm trying so hard to become Texas?

All they've done since getting here, other than not winning conference and/or divisional titles, is talk about how great Texas and Texas recruiting is. They throw words like "endowment" and money signs around to cover up the fact that they have a mediocre coach and are going nowhere but middle of the pack. Remind you of anyone? Sure the Longhorns may suck, but they've got that money right? All that talk from Aggies about how bad Texas is, all they did was switch conferences to get out of Big Brother's shadow and pretend to sit in the big chair for a while.

The answer is: because we have never gotten to be the Texas before. No matter how much money we had, they had more. We felt like fricking MSU.
Then we get to the SEC and we play against some programs (again MSU) whose endowments are worth less than our football facilities. So the natural Texas arrogance bubbled up.
And it's dying down somewhat. Another part of the SEC move is a new standard. Yeah we the best by the Texas standard (richest) but that doesn't make you feel better when you get four years of corndog teabags or that poor team beats you. We are slowly learning that Texas had it all wrong and the coaching matters more than the flash. Hence us hiring a few good coaches (WR, DC) who are so so recruiters.
