QB-Set. Mauk starts, Berk or Printz #2

RB-Somewhat set. Hansborough will "start", but plenty of carries up for grabs. Top candidates for #2 Abbington and Steward

Prediction - RH, MS, CA, IW

WR- 3 new starters. Brown is pretty much a lock, Moore might be as well. Leftwich the other starter for now. Blair, Richard, Johnson, Smith and Martin (if he qualifies) would be the most likely guys fighting for depth spots

Prediction

Brown-Leftwich
Moore-Blair
Johnson-Richard

TE- Set. Culkin will start. Both Reese and Blanton will play. Might see some two TE sets. Really talented reserves here.

OL- Boehm and McGovern are locks. Then things get really interesting. I'm assuming they brought in Cuellar and Howell to start. Bauer, Rhodes, Crawford then a host of seniors will all be battling for spots.

Prediction

Cuellar
Bauer
Boehm
McGovern
Howell

DE- two new starters. Harris is a lock. Frazier and Loud will likely fight it out for the other spot.

Prediction

Harris-Williams
Frazier-Loud

DT- Set. Augusta and Brantley start. Hopefully Beckner as a pseudo 3rd starter playing a lot of snaps. Logan, Winston and Hatley for depth

LB- Set. Return all starters and 5 of 6 on two deep. Expect Lee to take over Ruise spot and back up Brothers.

DB- return 3 of 4 starters. Wouldn't expect any change in that. Will be very interesting battle for the final safety spot. 3 really talented young guys and a holdover in Browning.

Prediction

Penton-Cheadle
Dennis-Gibson
Simon-Browning
Wilson-Ross

Nickel Sherrils/Ross

I'll also predict that Gibson will return punts and Wingo will return KO

I'm not as sold on Steward as some. And it's not Steward's fault. Injuries and what not lead to the fact he's entering his junior year with next to no playing experience. If he's on par with a younger player, I go with the younger player.

Hansbrough
Abbington
Witter/Steward

Walters might/might not transfer, but is still odd man out. Who knows with Hunt.

Doherty/Williams redshirt.

Steward will be a RS SO. Hopefully he's fully healed. If so, he's our most talented back IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised if this changes over the course of the season. I think to start the year it's

Leftwich DiLosa
Moore Blair
Brown Richard

I think before the year is over, it will be

Brown DiLosa
Moore Blair
Richard Johnson

Martin either doesn't sign or goes JUCO. If he signs and is eligible, he could work into the rotation as well.

Roster lists him as a RS SO this past year. I think he'll be a RS JR.

Can't argue with that. Howell/Cuellar could flip flop but I like what I see. The staff seemed high on Fairchild too who reported early last year. He might be in the mix with Bauer/Rhodes/Crawford. My guess is, if Rhodes and Crawford don't win the starting guard spot, they backup at a tackle position, where I think they are ultimately destined for. Bauer will never be a tackle.

McNulty, Chappell and Hall, if they all stick around, will likely be in the mix for the 2 deep somewhere.

Yeah, it's a complete shame. I don't know if I'd say he's the most talented. I'll leave that to you guys that have actually seen him. I just feel bad that he obviously is talented but has just had one set back after another. He's just never been able to gain traction.

GP doesn't really at the younger player if they aren't better than the older one.
One thing he does is play the player that is least likely to make a mistake, which often is the veteran player. More often that veteran has a lower ceiling, but higher floor than the younger player. He really values the consistent player.

Can't argue it. Just don't know enough about Williams, McWilliams or Brady to know which one works into the mix the most. I've heard good things about all. Frazier, being a JUCO will be in the mix.

This is where Beckner could be oh so huge. He'll play as a true freshman and take over after Brantley goes pro.

Jacobs and Moore will redshirt to add weight/strength.

The only thing I see that could possibly change is if Sherrils plays safety and Wilson is the Nickel since he played there so much last year. Our Nickel saw the field a lot last year. In reality, there will probably be a lot of sharing within those groups but I think the names you mention will likely be the ones to see the majority of snaps.

Id normally agree, and I know he played there last year in relief...but Wilson is awful small to be playing that spot.
