A chance meeting between Coates and a 12-year-old rare disease patient Kenzie Ray after a home football game during the 2013 season blossomed into a meaningful two-way relationship.

I saw a story on this. Very uplifting story. Seems like a legit dude. Nothing to make fun of. Unless you don't have a heart, that is

Misleading title. Thought Coates had an award winning disease. Great story

It is indeed. Unfortunately for your attempt at an ice burn, it was taken before the game. Let's compare this picture to what it might have looked like when ATM was in a national title type game. 1939, right?
- The T-Shirt was on the verge of becoming a pop culture icon, but at this time, it was still just a garment issued by the Navy.
- That black man in the picture would still need about 30 years before he would be allowed to play at ATM.
- That hat would need about 21 years to be recognized
- IV treatment was just being developed, but would be another 12 or so more years before it was widely used

This is what I like to see on the rant.

Learned last week the relevance of this through a totally different introduction to the causes. The rare diseases do not have the support or funding of the larger and more specific organizations, i.e. American Cancer Society, National Muscular Sclerosis Foundation, etc. It is important to their cause to pool the energies collectively to obtain needed funding and support.

Now this is how you talk shite
ETA: should have said this first, I absolutely love these stories. It helps her so much to have someone care for her like Sammie has done. A positive mind is one of the best treatments you can have.
