This 3 page debate on what is or isn't a national title is why I used AP, FYI.

Especially since I'm an Alabama person. Would have crashed the thread from post 1.

They are in a similar spot Bama was in 2006

...and LSU was in 1989.

At that point in time LSU had winning records against everyone in conference except Bama and UT, the UF took over the series in '94.

I'm not so sure UT is the clear #2, if even at all. But you're right, another 10 years at this pace and LSU will be the clear second place team.

I do know that LSU is 2-0 vs Tennessee in the SECCG. (And holds the best win% in the SECCG)

When a debate makes Alabama people bring up losing for almost a decade straight to a program they hate as a reason to continue playing said program.........I mean I don't know what else you need to know about it.

You shouldn't need to know any more. I'd guess that this board is made up of a lot of young kids and bandwagoners that don't really "get it".

ETA: Obviously, I hate you too, but I can give credit where its due.

Yep, every program hits a crossroads. Ole Miss hit it post-Vaught and never recovered. Arkansas post-Holtz. Florida post-Meyer. Some fade away and some reassert themselves. Tennessee feels like they are at that point next season and the next. Kind of a huge spot for them.

Easy to do when y'all have only played in 5 of them.

You talked shite about me using 2000 as a reference point, but UF was a bottom dweller in the SEC most of my life. It wasn't until 1991 that UF turned it around

And yet we lead the annual series.

Whoopee, we didn't play UF very much early years. If we had LSU would be leading the series by 50+ games

We've been playing annually since 1971...

Football started way before 1971

I've never seen an non-bama fan promote the full list so vigorously before, I figured the abbreviated NCAA list was a good compromise. I still do, the unreasonable notwithstanding.

You are the one that brought up my 2000 reference was funny. Now you keep doing the same thing

If it's so easy, why haven't 4 of the other 5 teams with 5 appearances been able to do it? As a matter of fact, only UF and LSU have.

After 5 SECCG appearances:
UF 4-1
LSU 4-1
AU 3-2
UA 2-3
UGA 2-3
UT 2-3

What does that have to do with the fact that UF leads LSU all-time?

To be fair, 4 of Alabama's first 5 SECCGs were all against Spurrier at his height (91, 92, 93, 96, 99).

Some of us have played in twice as many.

Try reading what I wrote. I'm not "promoting" the list, I'm pointing out the FACT that it is the list that the major teams use. My opinion and your opinion does not overcome the fact that it is what they use. I'm not saying anything more than that.

Are you a slow fella? You jumped in on my post saying it was funny because I used 2000 as reference to UT, which your school was never mentioned, and act like you were a part of UF history when in fact you probably wouldn't even born yet. Most posters on here don't have a clue about history only what they read and let me tell you LSU was better than UF for most of my life. We lead the series until 1990's. Just so happened y'all made a good coaching hire and we didn't. You should know how that feels! RIGHT
