What difference does it make.
There is only one true national champion relative to it being decided on the field. Thats TOSU. All previous national championships are both irrelevant and bullshite. LSU's included

Currenty I'd probably say so, but the gap is closing pretty quick. However, I also think a few other schools could make an argument for #2 too
Here's some additional info that you can find on Winsipedia that's interesting.
Total Weeks Ranked in AP
Total Weeks Ranked AP #1

Really didn't think about it much, just noted the 1 and tacked it on.

to make a correction LINK 14 Conference tittles Claimed national titles 2 (1942, 1980)
Unclaimed national titles 10 (1896, 1920, 1927, 1941, 1946, 1966, 1968, 1982, 1983, 2007)

That isn't a correction. We are only using AP/Major Poll Titles to stay away from this ridiculous "claimed title" debate we always end up falling into.

I basically just assign 2 points for national titles, and 1 for SEC
So UT and LSU are both at 17 points
UF at 15
