That Tater could get 10 years for smashing and stashing that rock, it's yet to be recovered.

quote:

Prosecutors have filed additional charges against a western North Carolina man accused of damaging and stealing part of Clemson University's iconic Howard's Rock.

Howard's Rock sits atop a pedestal in Memorial Stadium and has been a part of Clemson tradition since it was gifted to the school in the 1960s. Clemson players gather around the rock to rub it for luck before each home game.

Micah Rogers, 20, is accused breaking into the glass case that holds Howard's Rock and chipping away part of the rock before stealing it on June 2, 2013, according to Clemson University.
Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins said Rogers now faces charges of grand larceny and malicious injury to property valued at more than $10,000.

they should at least rename the rock after him. He was the only one who put in any real work in to touch it during that 5 year span.

No mention of the fact that, for a solid week, they blamed it on Carolina fans.

It's a shame that the kids life is probably ruined over some stupid shite like this.

I mean, if Manziel was a 20 year old college kid, why are they referring to this guy as a man when he did this at 19?

Also, I question the sanity of anyone that would pay 10,000 bucks for a rock (or mineral if you're Hank Schrader)

YES. That's what got me permabanned from taternet and they registered my IP. When they found out it was a kid and he had all that clemson stuff on his social media and his parents were taking him to games all his life, I let them know all about it. I then started a thread talking about how real men admit when they're wrong and apologize to those they offended...Crump gave me the boot.

Crump has always been a little bone smoking dick head - I'll give you that. But does he still own taternet? I thought he sold it?

He's a total sac-o-shite douche bag prick in real life. But let's face it, he hates Gamecock fans as much as we hate taterheads.

I don't know if he owns it or who does. I do know that a Mod there named Crump gave me a PM warning and then the boot right after the TaterRockGate incident.

Tommy Crumpton is his name ... he's the one that started the site twenty years ago.

He's truly one of the most dislikable (sic) people on the face of the earth. A redneck piece of shite computer nerd douche bag taterhead.

Helluva programmer though.

Unless that rock was some precious mineral there is no way it is worth 10K and even less likely the chip off the block the kid took was worth 10K.

It's beyond just any "precious" rock. Ask a tater, it's priceless. They probably can't believe that the charges state it as low as 10k.
