quote:

“I know one thing,” Spurrier said, according to ESPN.com. “South Carolina beat Urban for the (SEC) Eastern Division championship in 2010. He wasn’t himself, though, in 2010. That’s after he quit and came back and they’d told him to try and relax and let his assistants do most of the coaching. He wasn’t really himself then. But he’s back to being himself, and I suspect he’ll win a few more.”

Spurrier is probably right. Meyer has Ohio State set up about as well as possible for a return bid to the playoff in 2015, with no underclassmen declaring early for the NFL Draft and the best possible quarterback situation any coach would dream of having heading into the spring. Meyer said this year’s Buckeyes were not supposed to be ready for this championship run, which has to leave you wondering how good they might be in 2015.

“I knew Urban would have those guys so ready to play,” Spurrier said. “In the big games, he doesn’t lose many of them.”

I agree with SOS - I do think Harbaugh may be a fly in Urban's ointment but at OSU he should be in position to make the final four regularly.

I agree. He is a beast and might be the best coach in America. Top 2 at least. The guy is great for football.

The B1G matters again, which honestly the SEC needed.

best coach in the country needs to be better than .500 against your retarded coach.

I don't think Paterno wound up being great for football and he won a lot, there are other considerations like how it's done and what is overlooked/allowed to go on at the school while winning.

The only reason Spurrier brought it up is to point out to everyone that he beat him once. The other stuff was just fluff.

Yeah, especially since he said that Urban wasn't himself in those days.

Uh huh. Like I said, the rest of that was fluff. The whole point was to mention he beat Urban for the SEC East Division once.

Congrats, by the way.

Not sure about that.We know he'll look the other way when it comes to mulitple failed drug test, assults, sexual assults etc and he's at a place that also has the same attitude when it comes to doing "whatever it takes" to win games.

Only a matter of time before OSU is on probation again and Urban is taking his talents elsewhere.

Did the NCAA even sniff at FLA while Urban was there?
