Repercussions if Big 12 gets left out of the final 4 again next season?

Say we have a similar scenario next season with one of the Big 12 teams ranked in the top 4 leading into the conference championship games. Do you think:
1. It simply won't happen and the committee will see the error of their ways and intentionally leave the Big 12 out of the top 4 rankings to cover their asses.
2. They will intentionally include a Big 12 team in the final 4 playoffs leaving out one of the 4 major conferences in an obvious attempt to rotate representation.
3. They will vote objectively regardless and the Big 12 will get a team into the playoffs if their conference champion is more impressive in spite of the lack of conference championship game.
4. The NCAA will change the rules allowing for a conference championship with less than 12 teams in the conference.
5. The Big 12 will be forced to add more teams allowing for a conference championship game.
6. The Big 12 will fall apart and their best teams will be cannibalized by the other 4 major conferences.
7. None of the above. Supply your own scenario.

The only scenario listed that would even be remotely feasible is the Big 12 adding a championship game.
My vote would go to 7 though none of the above: nothing will happen. The Big 12 will continue playing football and the committee will continue to vote on who they think the best 4 teams are.

So do you think the Big 12 not having a championship game was a factor in TCU dropping from #3 out of the playoff picture in spite of beating the shite out of Iowa St. in their final game?
