It is a given that we will still beat the aggies, Florida and the both Miss schools.
But what is the word about Steele from real Bama fans ?
He could certainly be an upgrade over 3rd and chavis but was he a good coach and recruiter for you ?

ETA: Not that it was on Steele, but did you watch Alabama this year? 3rd and 15, let the QB run around, throw a pass downfield and let a WR make a play. Rinse and fricking repeat.

Yes he was. Thought ya'll could do a lot better though TBH. Are LSU "insiders" that clueless?? Today, they had Smart as the leading candidate and practically in contract negotiations.

Not a Chavis fan but Steele would not be an upgrade. He has NFL experience, had a televised run in with one of his players in Carolina, not surprising for their thugs. Has had two stints with Saban at Bama, left after Ute fiasco in Sugar Bowl - probably part of the team distraction that week (but not nearly as "big" as the Andre Smith crap). Went to Clemson as DC, a postion that he has held from time to time during his career. Not recognized as a defensive genius, or difference maker. He does know football and can recruit when he feels like it. Actually was surprised trhat he wanted to return to Ttown or that Saban wanted him back.
