Peel sac fly tied it. Ring base hit puts Mizzou up 3-2.

I'd steal here with 2 outs. Best case...in scoring position for #3 hitter. Worst case...start the next inning with the #3 hitter.

HR Illinois. 3-4 them. Did I ask before why TJ insists on pitching a senior when there are better underclassmen he could be grooming for weekend starts in future years.

Howard a double. Wild pitch to 3rd with 2 outs. They pitch around Akmon so they can get to Mr. .100. His reputation proceeds him.

Taking a look at the UF squad. Hitting is a strength. Pitching appears to be a weakness.

Almost seems like they do it by committee. It's not unusual for a starter to only go 3-5 innings. Those that seem to get a majority of starts in the conference games:

Shore(1-2) 3.86 ERA 15 K's 3 BB's - Seems to be their Friday starter. Had a complete game against Bama but only 3.2 against OM and 6.0 against UT. 5 K's a game is setting any records and given our propensity to strike out against Illinois, it's a good thing he's not a strike out pitcher.

Dunning(0-0) 4.15 ERA 13 K's 6 BB's - Seems to be the Sunday starter. The longest he's gone all year is 5.2. Seems to get a quick hook as can be seen with him not having a record in conference games.

Puk(2-1) 5.06 ERA 19 K's 6 BB's - Lost his start last weekend against Bama to Rhodes. Not sure if due to injury or performance. He's gone 5.0 and 2.1 innings.

Rhodes(0-0) 3.60 ERA 15 K's 3 BB's - Got the start against Bama and went 3 innings. Threw 2 innings against OM as well.

Pretty common lineup for UF:

2B Guthrie .314
SS Martin .297
LF Bader .265
3B Tobias .320
CF Reed .333
C Rivera .333
DH Schwarz .242
1B Vazquez .333
RF Larson .360

Don't let the conference numbers fool ya. Bader and others are actually among the team leaders offensively. Bader leads the team with 8 HR's overall.

Florida is currently ranked anywhere from 3 to 6. They've lost at least 1 game in each of their conference series (UT/Bama) and lost 2 to OM. OM has been their only road series coincidentally. They've also split with other quality teams like UCF and FSU, including a loss to FSU yesterday. They're ranked highly, but I think our pitching threw against just as good of bats against A&M and fared well and I don't think their pitching staff is as solid as A&M or SC. Again, would love to win 1 but think there's a chance to steal another series against a top 10 team.

It's weird that UFs pitching isn't producing more than they are. Most of their guys are/were big time prospects or were moderately high draftees out of high school that chose school.

It's hard to get a gauge on if it's them or the coach with a quick hook. Their numbers aren't horrible but they might get yanked after 4 innings despite only giving up a run or 2.

Rhoades, on @KTGRBigShow, also echoed R. Bowen Loftin in saying MU has to do "something" with the baseball stadium.

So needed. I don't know how their current facilities attract anyone.

Rhoades & Loftin

Loftin is the shite.

I appreciate Deaton and his role in academia at Missouri but Loftin is on another level when it comes to all encompassing vision of Mizzou.

The thing is, baseball can almost be self sustaining. Not quite, but almost. I think Mizzou spends about $1.5M on baseball annually, give or take. LSU gets over 10,000 a game on average. If Mizzou hadn't abandoned its baseball and got even half of that, at an average ticket price of $10 and 30 home games, that is $1.5M in gate. It won't pay for a nice stadium, but the nice stadium could set the team up to nearly pay for itself.

Yes, I know. Not realistic anymore, but it could have been.
