Greg McElroy

I have enjoyed every minute of listening to him all year on SECNW. Football IQ is through the roof IMO. He would make one heck of a good coach!

Agreed.

However, a TV color gig is much easier, less stressful, and close in compensation except for those at the very top.

I would choose to be a broadcaster making $2MM over a coach making $5MM every day.

The guy does a good job. Look for him to take a spot on ESPN College Gameday soon.

So much more free time as a TV guy. You really get to enjoy life. To be a successful college coach you either have to be absorbed into it or have a program in Las Angelas where the girls and beach sell it self along with all the Hollywood people recruiting for you.

I wonder if he'll ever follow in his dad's footsteps and go to work in some NFL front office?

Larry just guaranteed he will never coach.

GMac does know his stuff. He showed that when he gave Saban credit for building LSU.

Nah, I was just making a ballpark guest as to what a color guy on a major network might make. I might be completely off.

My guess is that Greg is making 150-200k a year at the moment.

Rhodes finalist, at least. Which is impressive by itself. I believe he scored a 48 or 49 on the Wonderlic, as well. Probably has an IQ in the 130's.

Again, I was using that as an arbitrary figure. That would be my guess for someone like Danielson, but I could be WAAAAAY off.

I'm guessing Greg is pulling 150-200k.

I know, I just wanted to make it sound like he was a bit better than what he was

You know the dude got screwed out of it though in favor of that Ivy League guy.
