LSU will make the next DC great too. Just a fact of life.

Yes. I think you are correct. LSU attracts talent, no matter who the DC is. Next DC will have great athletes to work with.

And LSU fans will complain about him. Another fact of life.

It's too bad that Louisiana wall is down.

Why did LSU suck so bad before Saban then? Let me guess...... Couldn't keep the talent in state amirite?

I do like how Henre Toliver and Jared Cornelius played this year for us. Lot of athleticism in Louisiana

Considering guys like Ed Reed, etc never stayed in state. Yeah, we were pretty bad at keeping the talent in state, Saban finally put a fence up around LA.

It didn't make Mallory/Peveto great DCs. In 2008, the year before Chavis arrived in Baton Rouge, LSU's defense finished 32nd in Total Defense, and 56th in Scoring Defense.

In 2009, Chavis' first year, LSU finished 26th in Total Defense, and 11th in Scoring Defense. Were the players on that team just THAT much better in 2009?

And while we're on the topic, the 2008 team was 60th in TOP, while the 2009 team was 107th. So you can't attibute the improvement to TOP, either.

LSU went from 3-8 to 8-4 in Saban's first year, followed by a 10-3 SECT and Sugar Bowl win

I'd say the players were there, dumbshit
