Derrick you mean.

But yeah, he was gashing em. He should've had 25.

7.3 yards per carry.

We have an undersized DE, Steve Miller, who probably had the play of the game on the zone blitz pick 6 but he's not a run stoper.

How they went away from that off tackle run to the left is beside me.

What's unfortunate is that we could say the same thing about last year. Henry was gashing OU but Nuss refused to use him as much as we needed. Now fast forward to Lane and you have the same thing. I miss the days of Coach McElwain where we would do something until you proved you could stop it.

If Royce Freeman has a career day against y'all, I am breaking my television

We did it vs Ole Miss too. We were gashing them running behind C-Rob, and stopped doing it.

But part of it is also the fact that other than C-Rob and mostly Arie, the rest of the OL sucked. Ryan Kelly got tossed around. Austin Shepherd, love him, but he's not a good football player.

Leon Brown was a disappointment to me. I expected him to be better.

You've got the wrong 13. 2/13 on third downs was the stat of the game.

Let's be thankful that Ohio State saved Alabama the embarrassment of getting smoked by Oregon. Alabama isn't much better than Florida State this season and losing the national championship would suck more than losing the playoff semifinals.

You're not alone and unfortunately this isn't the first time under Saban that we've been left wondering about that. It is absolutely maddening. Its also why we all hated Nuss.

We just aren't very good at in-game adjustments. The only time in the last few years that we ever adjusted and committed to the run was the 2012 UGA game. The next time Saban says that our offensive philosophy is to "take what the defense gives you," he needs to be slapped.

When facing high-powered offenses, I feel like guys like Saban used to have the mentality that the best way to beat them was to keep them off the field. One way to do that is to dominate the TOP...move the chains. Treating 2nd and short as a free chance to call pass plays doesn't do that.

We haven't been able to consistently stop 3rd and Forevers in quite sometime. Dates back to the OU game and you could say it even goes back to 2012 (LSU, A&M, and UGA). Even the bad teams we played this year had some success in that area. Progressively getting worse and its amazing how consistent we are at giving it up.

3rd and Kirby.

We definitely needed to run the ball more considering how we couldn't do anything to stop you guys.

Oh well, congrats and good luck.

I think this is a scheme issues because these things seems to happen now on a yearly bases where we have games that we struggle on 3rd and long verse mobile qb's. There is no reason our defense with its talent should give up so many first down with that yardage to go.

Scheme and lack of speed. We don't have many defenders, especially LBers, that can close on mobile QBs when they break containment.

Its a problem that started to pop up in 2012, got worse in 2013 and then fully metastasized in 2014. I've never seen a defense have a problem like this before.

this ...

just don't have the speed at lb we need ...

that was a great call by the dc for that dlineman to drop back into coverage when he intercepted the ball ...
