Dirty water. It comes from having a large river run through much of it. The normal prescription for overlooking New Orlean's shortcomings is heavy drinking, party drugs and illicit activity.

When Delta left Monroe, it was nowhere near the basket case it has become.
Coca cola had some it's first bottlers from the same area.
And Monroe is a decent enough place.
Unlike the celebration of ignorance encamped just on the West Bank of the Ouachita River from it.

The French Quarter smells because it is where all of the tourists go. I have been in the city when Alabama fans were there for a game. Never have I seen a more ignorant looking or entitled acting fanbase. Obvious that they were there to drink as much as they could and act foolish. They think that the whole city is the French Quarter and think that they had a good meal because they ate beignets at Cafe du Monde.

I'm sorry, Amari. We'll have the Sugar Bowl moved to the Montana Dome in the future so it will smell nice and there won't be shite going on. That will do wonders for profits.
