Wondering on your thoughts of this hire. His last season at Michigan was terrible but a lot of that could be on the personnel not the coach however we have heard that excuse one too many times these last couple years at Florida.

Good hire IMO. Read up on everywhere else he has been in his career and what his offenses accomplished. He kind of got a raw deal working with Hoke this year much in the same way Roper did with Muschamp.

Not worried about the OC at UF as long as the HC is a strong offensive mind.

I don't think I've ever seen this many OC's get absolutely trashed by an HC. It was like a revolving door.

Not a bad hire from the standpoint that he knows McElwain and is familiar with his offensive philosophy. I don't think Nussmeier's a great OC, but UF could do worse. McElwain will make a lot of decisions when it comes to the offensive side of the ball anyway.

When things go badly the OC & DC are the immediate targets of fans ire and the HC is next.

You have to have thick skin as an assistant and we definitely needed a change in staff...WR coach being the one position that is in dire need of fixing soon and we need to land some big fish.

So little of being an OC is actually calling the plays on gameday. Most of your job as an OC is gameplanning. McElwain is gonna have his stamp on that, so I could care less who the OC is tbh. It's why I would have been fine with Napier. I think McElwain wanted someone he knew that he would work very well with as a play caller and that was Nuss. I love the fact that Nuss has a history with QB's as well.

Yep, he and Nuss worked together at MSU under JLS, so there's some rapport at least.

As bad as Michigan was, he, IMO, wasn't the sole issue (their OL was complete dogshit and DG is a good kid, but not a great QB). I liked what Nuss did with Keith Price at UW and thought he was fine at Bama. I'm excited to see what he does at UF now.

The important thing is how well they will work together.

It seems as though Coach Mac is starting to put together a pretty good staff

He worked with locker mostly, but was with KP for one year (where he did well a first year starter, sucked arse in 2012, though).

Locker would get injured reading this website

Well....one thing is for sure...UF has now taken steps to correct the past four years of offensive futility. We have to teach and develop qbs much better than we have. Weis was a guru but obviously was speaking in Bari Bari to true frosh qbs and a r/s jr qb with average skills who wasn't require to do anything his previous three yrs but hold a clipboard.

No one can complain now about the offense cause we are going to reinvent ourselves and have coaches who know each other well and the team work will be evident to the players. Lets just hope the defense remains stout and theres no reason in the jumbled mess of the SEC east we cant come out the gate racing for the finish line. The spring game will tell us a lot I think.

10-2 can be had with our schedule. Road games @ LSU and Mizzou are easily the two hardest games on the schedule.

UF showed this year it can play with FSU, so even if he stays, I still say FSU at home is a winnable one.

LSU ain't what it used to be either, though. I don't feel like our climb is too bad next year.

For sure, I really like the way he carries himself too.

The self-deprecation and not taking himself so seriously goes a long way with me.

Dude also looks like he loves to recruit, which is a big bonus at Florida.
