I think they'll work more on the job title and official duties, but it's a job and he's back in school as of January.

Marcus Lattimore is coming home.
“It’s the first step,” Lattimore said. “I plan to finish up school and most likely be done with it next January (2016).”
Lattimore will enroll for South Carolina’s spring semester in January and begin completing his degree in public health. He’ll also take a position as an ambassador for the school and its football program, although an official title has yet to be bestowed.
“There’s been some back-and-forth,” he said. “I’ll most likely work with the university, coach (Ray) Tanner, president (Harris) Pastides, coach (Steve) Spurrier, whatever they need me to do. No official title that we have talked about yet, but we’re trying to get something nailed down.”

He needs 35 hours to earn his degree (I was wrong when I said it was 32 last month after he first announced his NFL days were over.)
So he's planning on doing 12, 6, 6, 12 starting next month and that will leave him plenty of time to work part time for the school as a liaison and personal assistant at a very nominal salary until he walks in January 16 - or so that's the plan.
He's also going to be in the weight room some, doing his own thing, as a casual observer, leading the way so-to-speak ...
