Can't hurt to have a moral victory.

Beats getting your arse beat.

I think we can at least agree this was better than looking like crap and losing by 30.

Let's hope this young team is starting to mesh and come together.

With Gant in the mix there are at least 4 very legit high end players on this team, and a few others that are more than adequate.

Should see the arrow moving up and to the right for the rest of the year.

Slightly ashamed with the behavior of Mizzou fans during the very beginning of this total program overhaul.

Team missed key players at the beginning.

Youth, which will take a full year to gain experience.

Complete philosophical transition in the program.

Will take time.

We should look for what Arkansas got out of their football team this year.

Win total might not be ideal, but a strong trend upward as the season goes on is what we want. Most importantly a sustainable trend upward, not flash in the pan success.

You're right. The effort against UMKC, SEMO, Purdue and Elon should have been applauded. Dude, they were painful exhibitions of basketball. No changing that. I think everyone has said that KA will and should get 3 or 4 or 5 years to get things turned around. That doesn't make any of those games pretty to watch in hindsight. shite is shite no matter how much perfume you put on it.

Having said that, I thought the team played their most complete game today. I think KA may have finally found that he has to go with his more athletic and more skilled players. I do think (hope) it was more than just a moral victory. I think they will be better in the future. But I still think expectations have to be tempered.

This year: Get double digit wins. Each win over that is a bonus.
Next year: Get to .500
3rd year: Get to the NIT
4th year: Get to the tourney

I'm going to be more optimistic.

Year 3: make the tourney.

Now, now, don't zero-sum, that's a bad habit that can be found in abundance all over our society.

The beginning of this season should not have been applauded, and very rightfully was criticized.

However, the type of negativity displayed by our own faithful showed zero capacity or effort to understand that a total program overhaul was/is just beginning and (a very important and) not all of the available talent was playing, not to mention the talent is extremely young.

I think everyone understands a rebuild was underway and going to take time. I also think that in Mizzou's worst rebuilding time, losing to UMKC and nearly losing to the others should never even be a contemplation, much less a reality.

Hopefully they (including KA) learn from this and we see a corner turned. There are still some really shite teams in the SEC and even the middle of the pack teams aren't very good. There is a chance for some wins still. I do think they can get to double digit wins this year.

Loss to UMKC or not, I think the the attitude was overly negative and showed little effort to understand what was really happening.

Guy like Rosburg gets extra minutes because of his obvious help to KA in this transition. He was sort of a player/coach type of guy through the initial phase of this process.

He'll be on the bench far more now.

Gant missing in action, players suspended, and extreme youth.

Okay to get pissed about UMKC loss, and embarrassing showings early, but it was the fatalistic attitude that was/is frustrating.

People rarely compile all of the information and form well rounded opinions of anything, this is no different, immediate emotions drive most everything.

I see this team going to a short bench rotation, with an unconventional lineup, much like Hath's first year here, which should help them get some surprise wins.

Surely some melt harder than others. But I also don't think criticism or calling something into question is the equivalent to being fatalistic.

We're probably on the same page. It seemed to me some saw fit to tweet or whatever some of the players some pretty harsh stuff. That, to me, is fatalistic and stupid. They did the same thing to the football team after the Indiana and UGA losses and look what they did. They won the east again. It's one thing to gripe about the current state of affairs on a message board. It's a whole different thing to go attack young men that are playing their hearts out regardless of the outcome.

This was the first Mizzou basketball game this year that I watched start to finish. I have to say I was moderately impressed with the poise they showed during this game. Anderson needs to play the young guys more and Rosburg less, but we already know that.

Overall today I have to agree. Good competitive game > arse beating.

Mine too. I have tried before, but the product on the court (forget the final outcome) was so difficult to watch I never made it. This game, however (forget the final outcome) I was able to watch start to finish. Hopefully there is more of that to come.

Think a postgame comment confirms this will be the case.

Not a moment too soon.

Rosberg just isn't a guy that should be at a major conference school.

He has D2 written all over him.

I doubt it. We don't have good enough guards to play 4 at a time.

Getting Gant in has helped. Don't want to continue to pile on Rosburg, but he just isn't any good. Williams, Gant and Allen should all be getting more minutes than him.

I think he (KA) said something regarding playing a smaller lineup, specifically mentioned playing Rosberg less.

(Info coming from Dave Matters tweets).

We did something unusual in Haith's first year and it worked.

I'd bet we see more of an unconventional lineup moving forward.

Play the talent.
