We all promised that we would have one Christmas dinner where everyone gets along. You know exactly what your questions would cause. Now someone is going to get cut with the nice silver that we only use once a year.

Ole Miss is the white collar school that attracts kids from wealthy suburbs of major cities.

Mississippi State is the blue collar school that attracts most of the uncultured Mississippi trash from redneck farm towns.

If you want to see wealth go stroll around Tulane. No one who knows what true wealth means is going to be impressed by Ole Miss.

When you grow up in a small town in MS and you are surrounded by super poor people. And your family is middle class...you start to think that you are a lot more wealthy than you really are.

I do think Ole Miss gets a decent chunk of people that could not get into UGA or UT though.

I think you need a name change, Bro.

Make sure you figure out who the starter will be before you ask for that change though.

When you're poor everyone with an MD or law degree probably seems like Bill Gates. That probably explains YouDontknowBo's post.

The Jackson area is largely split. The JA and Prep kids head to Ole Miss, as well as the majority of the Madison and Ridgeland kids. Otherwise, you have a lot of upper and upper-middle class kids headed to Starkville.

Ole Miss has substantial alumni bases in other states, unlike State. State's only significant non-Mississippi "city" is Memphis while Ole Miss has a large alumni bases in Atlanta and Dallas. Older New Orleans families sent a lot of kids to Oxford, but that died with the TOPS program. Ole Miss also has a decent alumni base in St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

Basically, the wealthier "suburban" kids in Mississippi go to Ole Miss while the wealthier rural kids go to State.

That's about it.

Cause State has not and never will be/have a dynasty in anything other than being lil bro.

It's pretty obvious who little bro is. They are the ones that put billboards all over the state claiming "This is our State" hoping that if they yell it loud enough and put it everywhere people will start believing them. They are also the ones that have all the cute nicknames for every one of our players/coaches. They also wear those snazzy uniforms during the egg bowl with all the gold in them.

Just like a classic little brother yelling look at me look at me. Look how cool I am and how much better I am than big bro. Even though everyone knows little bro whips little bros arse whenever he feels the need to.

Damn seems like I struck pretty close to the shanties of these Mississippi State peasants.

I've lived in Highland Park. I know what wealth looks like and lots of Ole Miss students have plenty of it.

Birmingham? Los Angeles? Highland Park is a pretty common name.

Neither school will ever have a dynasty in any sport.

Ole Miss has a higher percentage of upper class students, I'd bet, but only because of the out of state alumni bases. The state of Mississippi itself is pretty split.
