@BruceFeldmanCFB: BREAKING #OhioState OC Tom Herman is expected to become the new head coach at #Houston, source told @FoxSports.
I know it's Urban's offense but hopefully this can affect their preparations in some way.

He's not going to coach throughout the playoffs?

Haven't seen that be reported anywhere yet. I'm sure he'll stay on, but his focus will definitely be lost coaching half the day and then trying to recruit for Houston the other half if he does indeed coach the playoff game.

Well, it didn't affect McElwein or our Offense in 2011.
I'd imagine that if he left before the Suga Bowl, that would affect Jones' preparation for the game.

Some OSU buddies on another board were saying last week before this official that he was only expected to coach the Sugar Bowl, regardless of it's outcome. Take that with a grain of salt and everything.

Herman specifically calls the plays up in the booth, and doesn't get vetoed by Meyer.
CSU's OC under McElwain called the plays as well, and he also was behind a lot of their formations this year.

Urban didn't call plays at Utah or Florida and doesn't call plays now either.

A 3rd string QB and a new guy calling the plays definitely wouldn't hurt our chances
