Well it didn't take Willy long to take stab at us. Not only is he most likely going to take our best recruiter, during his press conference he took a shot at our facilities by saying that recruits always used to tell him how nice Auburns facilities are and its nice to be on the other side of that. I agree we need some upgrading and I am happy he found a job but dang Will as far as I am concerned you are getting paid Millions still by Florida you could wait a week to start with the negative recruiting.

Some quotes from his press conference.

He said There's a huge difference between perception and reality." Cites difference between Auburn and Florida of 2 plays per game. "We played pretty good defense."

He also went on to discuss the recruiting clause in his contract saying if Auburn was previously recruiting them then he will go get them for the tigers.

Here is another Muschamp quote not sure if it was a shot at Florid or not.
"Id rather be at a place like Auburn where we can compete for National Championships every year" -Muschamp

He's doing and saying the exact things he would say if we had hired him from another school. I have no problem with it.

Company line. He would be doing AU a disservice if he didn't bust his asks for their University.

I agree the only thing that ticked me off is he didn't even wait 20 minutes to give us a shout out on the condition of our facilities. If you want to do that go ahead its his job but really I thought it was too soon in my opinion especially after the goodbye press conference where it seemed like him and Foley were best friends. To me he also tried to pass the blame a little off of himself by his quotes about the 2 play/game difference. He had 4 years to get an offense going he had 4 opportunities to hire a strong OC to do it if he couldn't he has no one but himself to blame for the way our offense played.

Sounds like it's a shot at the other schools offering him a position, otherwise he's damning himself for not putting UF in a spot to compete for titles

Just like any politician which is why I said, and will continue to say: frick 'im.

I know it's a little harsh, but I knew how that guy was all along, and he's quick to pass the buck to someone else while saying concurrently that it stops with him.

He did it with Pease really bad, even though the offense has looked literally the exact same every year and it regressed to what it was Driskel's first year.

10 - 15 passes a game, running the ball, hoping to shorten the game.

That was hardly a shot. I watched that whole damned presser over everyone snarling and raving at GC about is talking about our facilities, and he makes one off hand comment about the dorms? And now we've got people reading into the rest of it, "he said he wants to be someplace he can win championships..." Yeah, he said that in response to them asking about his wanting to be a HC again.

Pump the brakes, people!

Yeah I saw what he said about "being on the other side of having nice facilities" and people say we haven't fallen behind.

Yeah that is how I read into it him saying he took the DC job instead of a HC job because he can win titles at Auburn.

As far as him taking a jab at our facilities. If you think they don't matter you are mistaken. I live in Clemson one of my neighbor's coaches at Clemson as a graduate assistant and he is very hands on showing recruits around campus when they arrive. We were discussing the facility thing when they built their indoor practice facility and updated the player lounges. He said the players lounges and dorms are the places recruits want to see the most on their visits. They noticed the fact that those two things alone may bring recruits into the program so they were proactive and updated them early. We are far past players going to schools because they were fans of that school growing up it has more to do with what the school will provide and give them while on campus. My problem and what a lot of other Gator fans are saying is if he is willing to say that 3 minutes into his opening press conference at Auburn when not even asked about facilities I cant imagine what he will be saying to the recruits that have their choice narrowed down to Florida and Auburn.

My two cents on this facility thing. I don't give a damn about getting an IPF. I wish the players housing, lounge and living amenities were better and maybe an update to the locker room.

Its the same crap different day....some folks just gotta take shots at something. IF some of you folks would listen to his presser...he again only replied to question regarding being a HC and whether he was offered other jobs...(like Houston HC). He never threw UF under the bus.

As for facilities he was asked questions about being back at AU and he candidly stated that it was nice having the dorms, the WELLNESS CENTER (not even really related to UF)and he was replying to the fact that AU had changed since he was last there. Do we need facilities updated? Duh. If Boom was back at UF in 8-9 yrs would he comment on the how the facilities had changed? Of course.

Lets look forward.

Actually the quote in question happened during his opening statement before being asked a single question. If the press asked him about it answer sure but he didn't need to say anything about how recruits felt of the facilities. Transcript below

I've been saying for years how our facilities were falling behind, not just in football and that I thought Foley was asleep at the wheel. People crushed me for ever questioning 'the best AD in the known universe'.

Dude's slippin', that Muschamp even got close to making it this far is kind of shocking.
