Yep... how many DCs in the country could hold FSU to 9 points in three possessions with GTs roster?

He's solid, nothing special.

The DL was getting absolutely abused. Nothing he could do about it.

GTs D finished one spot below Auburns in total D this year (before tonight) with a much weaker schedule.

They are not good.

I'm guessing Johnson's offense hurt Roofs D just as Gus's offense did.

Roof is a good college DC, IMO. He is not close to being elite. That being said, I hope he is never Auburn's DC again.

I believe he's had two Ds finish in the top 20 (either total D or scoring D) in his entire coaching career (not 100% positive but its pretty close).

Good might be a bit of a stretch.

Just for reference, Chizik only had one D finish outside the top 35 in his 9 years as a D coordinator (again not 100% positive but its pretty close).

They may have been one spot behind us against a weaker schedule but they don't have two players on their defense that could make our team. They recruit in the 60's.

Roof has nothing to work with there but he stopped UGA and we couldn't even slow them down

GT defense > AU defense

One game transitive property huh?

Smart analysis.

Especially considering they gave up a whopping 10 less points, 24 less yards, and nearly the exact same yards per play. Of course this doesn't take into effect that UGA turned the ball over 3 times in their game against Tech and 0 against us.

We'll just ignore that they gave up over 500 yards and 38 points against the ultra talented Ga Southern.

Turnovers are forced by defenses. See how we do that?

argue all you want but our defense was cold runny shite this year. The entire year.

Could not stop anyone. And we have tons of talent on our defense.

Every turnover?

Guess TAMs defense deserves the credit for winning at JHS. With those two big turnovers they caused to end the game.

The entire year, huh?

Are you dumb or do you just love being an overdramatic queen?

GT gave up 5.79 yards per play to UGA, Auburn gave up 5.8, yet they stopped them and UGA ran right thru Auburns D?

I'm not saying that our defense was good by any stretch, but you white knighting for GTs D is absolutely ridiculous.

I am not knighting for them at all.. But your statement of them being one place behind us and having a weaker schedule so they are crap is even more ridiculous.

They did tons more with tons less than we did. We have two 5* linemen playing and everyone else is 4*. They are lucky to have two 4* players on the entire team.

And a few penalties against UGA kept us from being housed by them more than we were. We were lucky it was only as bad as it was.

USC green QB schooled us at home

TAM green QB schooled us at home

UGA could have had a million yards.

It was total crap dude. GT defense played much better this year than we did
Especially with what they had to work with

I will take Roof over EJ anytime

Dylan Thompson is a green QB?

Its official, you don't know jack shite about college football.

No point continuing this conversation with someone who thinks a SR QB who led the SEC in passing yards is "green" and then uses fantasy world as a leg to stand on.
