Arky, why you take 4 tight ends?

You have four committed for this class.

The best one IIRC is suppose to be a DE, the former bball player.

Otherwise, I presume they use the 12 personnel and run 2 TEs at a time.

We do run a lot of 2 and 3 TE sets, Bell will be a DE if his test scores get where they need to be.

He's a beast. He's said the coaches will ultimately decide once he's on campus and they get a chance to see him in practice.

O'Grady is the TD machine, he's got great hands, not a lot of experience blocking but that will change.

Gragg is my least favorite, he's got ego for miles, isn't physically overwhelming. Likes to play WR more than anything, has small hands for a 6'4 athlete.

Cantrell is my favorite. He anchors his school's 4x100 relay team. He's a beast out of the backfield. He's perfect for this offense. He'll play the role that AJ Derby did this past year. He could make a huge impact as a freshman.

Like CV said, they all serve different roles and are needed. Bielema likes to run a lot of heavy TE sets and we really only had two good ones this year. When AJ Derby got hurt in the Ole Miss game and was forced to miss the game against Mizzou it really crippled our offense.

Derby is graduating so that leaves us only with Hunter Henry and Jeremy Sprinkle who are both juniors and Jack Kraus who looks more like an OT than a TE.

We led the SEC with 65 catches by our TE's this year so there will definitely be chances for all of them to get touches.

How do you find out that level of detail on a recruit?

Yea, he's the lowest rated, but Davenport thinks he's the best player in our class, regardless of position.

He's actually the highest rated on 247 now. They bumped him up like 20 spots and over the other 3 in their last update.

Yea, just noticed that. He was the lowest player in our class for a while, until Blake Johnson the punter committed. Glad he's finally receiving some respect.

I'm glad he plays at a small school right across the border because if he was at Jenks or another big school he would have been a national recruit.

Good point, although he seems pretty sold on Arkansas.

I guess you could also say we have so many TE commits, because we have so many good ones instate this year. And then Cantrell's just across the border, so he's close.

Yeah it's not a normal thing to have three 4* caliber TE's instate in a single year. Definitely a good problem for one of the few coaches in the country that truly uses multiple TE's.

O'Grady is the No. 3 TE overall on Rivals in the latest rankings. It's a stud group coming in and needed behind Hunter.
