SEC vs. everyone else

Just watching the Pac 12 CG and looking at these two teams and thinking, "how could these teams ever compete with the solid SEC teams?" Then bowl season comes around and the Oregon's and FSU's etc. are highly competitive with the big SEC schools.. Is this just a testament to the coaches in other leagues, their play calling, or our "overratedness". Or am I missing something spectacular about these teams when I watch them?
ETA: just saw where there was another thread about this

FSU yea. Oregon... Not so much.
Edit: You picked arguably the top 2 teams from outside the SEC. Of course they "can compete." Only the small-minded argue differently. That's not the same thing as arguing conferences.

I don't know how this needs a thread everyday but for me its not so much that a school from another conference couldn't compete with an SEC team because they can, it's that they can't play 9 SEC teams in a row and make it out alive.

FSU should have lost to UF. They will get smashed by AL.

Exactly.

Haven't seen this being discussed everyday on here, Toby.
ETA: it's obvious they couldn't compete week in and week out, but just looking at the olines and dlines, rb's, etc.. I just don't think it should even be fair.

bit of an overreaction on my part, mentally I lumped your post in with ESPN talking heads, random non SEC fans I know, etc.

Exactly. The line of scrimmage would be where those teams got beat down on a weekly basis. In fairness to them they don't recruit the types of lineman and bruising running backs like we do for the most part because thats not how their conference is set up.
