I am looking for anyone who can keep SEC teams under 30 points. Gus can score 30 on anybody we hold other teams to under 30 we are in the hunt for the playoffs every year.

I'm looking for someone who will FTLOG teach good fundamentals, so our LBs and CBs don't look more confused than a kid with downs taking a math test.

That will not matter unless Gus changes his philosophy a bit and lets 1s go against ones at least some so the players on D can get used to and stay acclimated to SEC speed and talent and doing the fundamentals in that climate. As it stands now 1s rarely go against ones. Practicing fundamentals versus the scout team as opposed to the 1s on O are 2 completely different animals.

In this case Gus needs to get his head out of his arse then..

To let 1 v 1, you need a lot of depth.

Not to do at least some work to keep the players acclimated to SEC speed and talent.

2-4 yes. No on 1. There are a number of coaches that prefer reactionary schemes as opposed to aggressive ones. See Gene Chizik.

99% of college coaches do not have the 1 vs 1 in practice but maybe the final 20 minutes. That's why you recruit studs like Peyton Barber and Roc Thomas to run scout team, until they're moved up the depth chart.

This could explain why the offense has been shaky out of the gate both years.
