Yet another conference alignment idea - do away with divisions all together.

With the new playoff system (and the possible expansion of it in the future) I'm not sure that two divisions are the best way to go no matter how they are aligned.

Vet this idea for me - what if they did away with divisions all together and instead used some sort of formula or algorithm to schedule out so that each team would play each other team on a regular basis. It would be mathematically assured that each team would play each other team the same amount of times over a given period - with the following possible exception.

For teams who don't want to lose traditional rivalries, you could make the following exception: each team could name up to 2 permanent opponents (could be 0 or 1 if they want). If someone you name also names you as a permanent opponent, you get to play them every year).

Roommate Switch Schedule is the only real option.

Had to look that (Roomate Switch Schedule) up. Not a bad alternative but I think I like my proposal better. Gonna have to think about it.
