re: No way the Maui Inv Game is gonna be over on ESPN2 in time for the Dawgs game

i love bob knight commentating. he talks about basketball the whole time and actually has insight into coaching, what teams need to do, and the game itself. it appears to me that he thinks we are a pretty decent team. and i agree. tonight was actually encouraging for me.

didnt hit free throws and certainly need to defend better, but we are gonna be alright.

I think you're overreacting a little bit too much to one game. Kenny, who IMO is our best player, didn't play well and we lost by 12 to a really good basketball team. Wiltjer was a 5 star out of high school and is a great fit at Gonzaga. Pangos is dirty as well. Yes, our team has a long way to go, but there are definitely things we can build off from this game. Need to go get the W on Friday.

I will agree with you that FTs are a massive issue though. Gonzaga shot lights out, which most teams won't, but we have to get things done from the line if we want to go anywhere this year. Making free throws can turn a mediocre team into a good one, or a good one into a great one.

The commentators were pissing me off talking about ejecting Gaines. As quickly as it happened, I'm sure Gaines was thinking "Oh, man. I can break this dude's jaw with my shin."
